About the farm
In the small coastal community of Nösund, right at the tip of western Orust, lies Nösundsgården with the sea as its close neighbour. This hidden gem has its history dating back to the 1800s. Come here to stay, eat, drink, and socialise. The guesthouse offers hotel and hostel rooms, a café, bar, and restaurant in an unbeatable setting.

Originally, the farm consisted of an old grain store from the late 1800s which today serves as a hostel and is located next to the car park. There was also a stable from 1873, and the hotel building with the restaurant stands there today. Rudolf Leopold Gerle, who came to the village in 1875, opened Bohuslän's largest shop here and also ensured that telephone, post, and banking services came to the area. The hostel, café, and a small shop were opened about 30 years ago and have since grown to become a hotel, hostel, café, and restaurant.
We who run the farm
As of 1 May 2025, we, Marléne and Johan Sandegren, are the owners and operators of the farm. However, you will most likely see me, Marléne, and the farm dog, Gaston, as Johan works as a consultant in Gothenburg but will pop in now and then. We both grew up in Stockholm but are now year-round residents in Nösund. Johan's family has lived here for several generations, which was one of the reasons we ended up here.

Marlene, co-owner and farm manager
I grew up in Stockholm but have Norrland blood in my veins. Love brought me to the west coast and Orust in 2019, and I commuted between living in Haga and here in Nösund. For almost my entire working life, I've been in property. I've worked with customer service my whole life, and when I, at over 50, got the opportunity to fulfil my dream of running my own hotel/hostel, I took it. My passion (apart from my husband) is the sea and the forest, where I draw energy and strength. My soul's pleasure is mushroom picking, fishing, and planting and growing flowers, herbs, and my own vegetables. Another great passion is cooking and baking.
Johan, co-owner
I grew up in Bromma, just outside Stockholm, but since childhood, I've spent my summers and other free time in Nösund. I originally trained in economics but have been working in IT for many years. Currently, I'm a consultant and run my own consulting firm, engaged in large, long-term, and stable projects. My great passion (besides my wife) is sailing, and I often spend more hours at sea than on land during the summer. Additionally, I'm strongly involved in the Nösund association, where we residents work together to preserve and make a difference. With my great interest in the sea, I hope to contribute to giving our guests many wonderful experiences at sea.
Gaston, the farm dog
I am a cautious and hesitant, but happy chap who keeps an eye on the farm. I always announce when a new visitor arrives on my property. I was born in Blekinge in 2023 but moved at a very young age to Nösund where I now live with my family. During the day, I either hang out with my mum on the farm or with my dad in his office. The highlight of the day is when a ball is thrown and I get to run and chase it. My interests include hunting rats, destroying my soft toys, and playing with my friends. I am hard to impress and skeptical of most things, yet very curious. Those I don't know are scary types, but if you manage to charm me, you'll always be my best friend. My CV includes puppy training, sit, lie down, paw, and spin. I think that's enough. Feel free to stop by and say hello if you're in the area. P.S. I love liver treats, but any dog treats work!
